Curry Chicken

Ingredients:
  • 1 kg skinless chicken chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes puree
  • 3-4 cm ginger paste
  • 4 cloves garlic paste
  • 4-5 tbsp chicken curry powder
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 large onion thinly sliced
  • 2 sprigs curry leaves
  • 2 medium potato cubed
  • 2 1/2 cups low fat milk / unsweeten soy milk
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 tbsp unsaturated oil
  • pinch of salt
  • corainder for garnishing
Procedure:
  1. heat marinate chicken with garlic, ginger, tomato, 1 sprig curry leaves, 1/2 onions, 2-3 tbsp curry powder, 1/2 cup of water ... simmer over very low heat for 30-40 mins ... stir every now and then .... prevent water drying out
  2. saute curry leave, cinnamon stick, rest of the onions, potato till fragrant .. add to marinate chicken ... simmer for 10 mins ... add 1/2 cup water
  3. add milk, pinch of salt ... bring to a boil ... simmer for another 30 mins on low fire
  4. garnish with coriander
