- 25 g onion
- 1/3 thumbsize piece ginger
- 1 clove garlic
- 50 ml water
- 2 tbsp oil
- 5 g chilli paste
- 1/2 tbsp soy bean paste
- 1 tbsp peanuts, roasted, grounded
- 1/2 tbsp dried prawns, finely grounded
- 1 stalk lemon grass
- 15 g tamarind pulp, mix with 1.5 lit water, juice strained
- 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 3/4 tsp salt
Bee Hoon Ingrdients:
- 3 1/2 tsp oil
- 25 g onion sliced
- 15 g chilli paste
- 40 g bean sprouts
- 200 g bee hoon, soaked in water
- 100 ml water
- 2 hard boiled eggs, sliced into wedges
- 1 small limes in halves
- cooked prawns, shelled
- 2 g chive, cut into 2 cm strips
- blend onion, ginger, garlic with 50 ml water
- in large pot ... heat oil ... add chilli paste ... fry over moderate heat till fragrant ... add soy bean paste, peanuts, dried prawns
- add lemon grass ... fry for a few minutes
- add tamarind juice, sugar, salt ... bring to a boil ... set aside
- heat oil ... fry onion till golden brown
- add chilli paste ... fry well
- add vean sprout ... mix well
- add bee hoon, water ... fry till dry
- serve bee hoon with gravy
- garnish with egg, lime, cooked prawns
